Netadmin automates Norwegian radio link traffic flows
Swedish company Netadmin Systems has struck a deal with Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk (NTE Bredbånd), a regional broadband operator in mid-Norway, about delivery and deployment of a system that automates operation and business processes in broadband networks.

NTE Bredbånd owns and operates a highly fiber-based broadband network, offering capacity, communications solutions, and various network services to authorities, businesses, and households within the region. The company also uses radio links where required by the landforms. Its reason for purchasing Netadmin’s system was a need for handling and monitoring the whole fiber network, including access equipment and radio links. This also lets NTE decrease its number of OSS systems.

“After plenty of searching, we found a system capable of monitoring and provisioning broadband traffic over our radio links in Netadmin,” said Tom Sandal, Technical Manager of NTE Bredbånd. “Until now, this has required lots of manual labour.”

Netadmin’s fully automated system is very advantageous to broadband network owners. The system drastically reduces operation costs and/or lets existing staff handle multiple times the current amount of customers. It also allows for valuable flexibility when choosing to connect new service providers and launching new services such as IP telephony and HDTV in the networks.

“This is a good example of how our strategy to offer systems independent of access methods and underlying network equipment helps position us as a company on the edge of technology,” said Anders Lindén, CEO of Netadmin Systems.

Project management, delivery, and support will be handled by Netadmin’s Norwegian partner Cumulus.
