Pioneering global standards in Wholesale Broadband with TM Forum Open APIs
From a system integration point, selling or buying wholesale broadband access can be a very complex business. The lack of global or national standards or the existence of multiple competing standards has caused many operators and CSPs headaches. This often results in layers of integrations that are hard to implement, operate, and maintain.
This reality can soon become history, with telcos and vendors on both ends of the wholesale process coming together to form a global standard in the TM Forum Standardizing Wholesale Fiber Access project.
Netadmin has specialized in wholesale since the mid-20s, with a large customer base that is either pure wholesale or a mix of wholesale and retail. Bringing our experience to the table, we are committed to taking a leading role in introducing TM Forum Open API standards to streamline the wholesale end-to-end process, allowing operators to accelerate the fiber rollout and focus on delivering new innovative services and an excellent customer experience.
Through our involvement in the TM Forum's Standardizing Wholesale Fiber Access project, we also close the gap with already existing national standards, such as the ON-API (Sweden) and AK S&P FIT (Fixnet Interfaces go TM Forum) (Germany), striving to leverage experience between parallel projects and work for alignment and consolidation to a new global standard over time.
We are actively contributing to several projects, including the following national and global initiatives:
-
TM Forum "Standardizing Wholesale Broadband - Fiber Access": Global project initiative led by TM Forum Members (operators, vendors, CSPs) to form the future global standard for selling and buying wholesale fixed wireless services. The project leverages existing Open APIs to define and describe standard product portfolios and processes. Netadmin, as an active project member, is seen as standing on the frontline in developing and promoting this standard, making it available for customers in all markets.
-
AK S&P FIT (Fixnet Interfaces go TM Forum): Strategic initiative aiming to replace a set of existing SOAP interfaces, including S/PRI & WBCI, a per facto standard used in the German market, with global standardized TM Forum Open APIs. The FIT project aligns with TM Forum's global initiative "Standardizing Wholesale Broadband - Fiber Access," and Netadmin seeks to play an essential role in bringing early adopters to the market.
-
ON-API (Open Network API): REST-based API standard for buying and selling wholesale access services on the Swedish market, which has been predominantly wholesale since 25 years ago. Netadmin is an active working group member, looking to influence and inspire future development to align with TM Forum standards.
